About Viv
I trained as a Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist with the North West Institute of Dynamic Psychotherapy, followed by training in Intensive Analytic practice with the Tavistock and Portman NHS Trust. This training takes place over several years and includes personal therapy and close supervision. The exploration of one's own life experiences and search for self understanding, is a central part of a therapist's professional training and the development of an understanding of our mind and inner world.
I am registered with the British Psychoanalytic Council (BPC) and work to their Code of Professional Ethics. I worked for many years within the NHS Mental Health services and gradually moved into private practice from 2004 onwards. Prior to practising as a Psychotherapist, I worked in Social Care within Child and Family and Adult services, for over 20 years.

I was Chair of the North West Institute of Dynamic Psychotherapy for several years. Currently I work as a Clinical Supervisor and Tutor on the Tavistock and Portman NHS Trust training course in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy. This course offers the knowledge, skills and clinical experience required to practice as a Psychodynamic Psychotherapist in a range of settings.

I have recently relocated from the North West and now practise as a Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist near Woodbridge, Suffolk.
